Mr D says...

When BBC Radio Scotland’s Tom Morton described Mr D's album 'Wings and Wheels', as his favourite Scottish debut of 2007, it crowned, what was already a remarkable year for the emerging Glasgow singer/songwriter.

Americana UK magazine were moved to write that ‘Wings and Wheels’ was “everything The Thrills have been trying to achieve on two albums”. And, the airwaves crackled as his music was played on everything from Brand New Country to XFM.

What's most significant though, in the whole story, is that all the writing, recording and performing, on a record which received such glowing praise, was done by the artist himself - without any other musicians or outside help. In an era swamped with session players, backing singers and big budgets it’s still good to know that sometimes all you need is a singer and a song.
